Oh, this old thing?

Yeah, it has been a while since I finished Kit, but you know how summer is: running around and plans and travel and it can be tough to find a few minutes to take pictures. On the weekend L and I finally managed to be together, in daylight, with a camera, so we dashed out the door and snapped a couple of photos of me wearing Kit.

I love it, and yet I wish it was longer. Next time (and, honestly, I will almost certainly knit this again) I’ll go up a needle size or two and add a couple of inches to the overall length. The only other mod I’d make would be to attach the straps a bit closer to the middle. I’m not horrified by the sight of bra straps, but on the other hand, I do feel weird about wearing this to work without a cardigan or something over it.

This looks awesome on, even better than on the hanger or lying flat. Way to go! I would also agree on the potential mods for future (and if I ever get around to knitting this myself, I will be sure to follow your suggestions)

Oh, what a nice thing to say! I really like that it’s a pattern with good bones, that you can then mod for fit as you like.

i love how delicate the seed stitch looks in this yarn. and agreed – the straps a bit closer together would be a good mod for next time. i think they’d be more proportional for you as well, although this version is pretty nice too 🙂

I finished up a Kit this summer, too, and I love it! I lose the straps occasionally off the shoulder, but I wouldn’t trade that for the neckline which I love. I love your color — mine is a natural shade, but almost bought yarn to knit up a grey or greyish-blue. Nicely done!

I’m thinking of going with a more natural/neutral shade for my second one (look at me planning ahead!) I really like the Euroflax colourway Pewter, since it seems like something you could dress up or down.

Yesssssssssssss! It looks terrific! I’m with you about the straps. I think the length of mine is growing on me or maybe it’s relaxed and stretched out a bit.
